Orange is a small town of around 30,000 (the town population was almost double that during its peak in Roman times) in the French département Vaucluse in the région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Its location in the Rhone Valley is close to major transit links between central and southern France.

A private car is often the easiest way to travel to Orange. The old town is only minutes off the Autoroute A7 and A9 – use exit 21 (Orange-Centre) and follow signs to the Tourist Information Office or Centre Ville.
