Mesa isn't just a Phoenix suburb. With a population of over 396,000, it is Arizona's third largest city, and its Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is just 22 miles from Phoenix's big international airport. Located on the southeastern edge of the city, the airport is easily accessible via US 60 (Superstition Freeway) and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway), the main highways which surround the Phoenix-Mesa metropolitan area.
If you're flying out from Mesa, it's a pleasure to arrive here and find the main parking area right next to the terminal, and just a short walk with your luggage. The first half-hour is free, and overnight parking is currently $6.00 per day. For busy periods there is also an overflow parking lot with free shuttle service to the terminal.
